Why ‘stem cell therapy’ is too broad a label

Different clinics may use:

  • bone-marrow-derived cells
  • adipose-derived cellular products
  • umbilical-cord-derived products
  • Wharton’s Jelly products
  • platelet-rich plasma alongside cellular products
  • exosomes, which are not stem cells at all

These are not interchangeable. A positive study on one preparation does not validate a completely different product.
